#Creepercult

After the ever approaching end of Our Time Down Here, Will had promised another project coming soon where he was once again handling vocal duties. Creeper came without too dramatic an entrance, just a free bandcamp download with a promise of something cool coming soon. I fell in love with these songs on my 1st listen, and then when the 'something cool' came along, I didn't hesitate to order. 

A few weeks of waiting, and this turns up. I've photographed the cover along the B-Side. I photographed the back cover and B-Side together, but this way fell a little better. I'm not too sure why they printed a centre label, as a screen print was just going over the top. Maybe the print would be uneven otherwise? The screen is super clean and looks really nice against the purple background.

Back Cover // A-Side. 

This purple variant sold out pretty quick at pre-order, and I'd imagine around 2/3's of the entire 1st press is gone. Pretty impressive considering the whole thing was a free download months before a physical copy ever turned up! 

Fairly plain back cover, which is just what you need from this band. A little bleak, a little goth. Track-listing, Palm Reader logo and the label designation in the bottom right corner. 

The centre label on the A-Side contains the 'A' in the Creeper font. Pretty neat little bonus, and the purple text matches the record fairly close. 

Kicking between the poly-sleeve and the record sleeve was this little note. It tells you what Palm Reader are up to, the offers that they have running and whatnot. 

The upside of having a clear purple variant over the /200 colour (black) is that you can spot the screen-print through the record. Packing out the plinth of my turntable with a bunch of LED's just so I can see this. Maybe not. 

On to the insert. 

This photo popped up on the band's Instagram before the release of the LP. It fits the mood of the music pretty well, and it's cool to see Will and Ian from OTDH doing something new. Even better that this is my EP of 2014, ridiculous.

Also, something that doesn't happen much nowadays. There is a mailing address to write to the band. It's based in Southampton so I am assuming that it's the home of one of the members. I remember pulling out Maybe I'll Catch Fire by Alkaline Trio and seeing an address in Chicago for a mailing address; later finding out all of the band lived there. That was a cool thing to do, and maybe that's a little nod to that. If pen and paper isn't your deal, then there's an email address too.
