Infinity On Vinyl

My Sister's have always bought me cool records. From just a few weeks ago at Christmas where between them I got LP's from Against Me!, Fell To Low, Dan Andriano, Ampere and others; to the very first record my Sister bought me nearly a decade ago:

Fall Out Boy were a huge part of my life back in 2007, and still are. My top want record is Take This To Your Grave. I would take any press, and have my fingers crossed on a repress. This was the first piece of Fall Out Boy wax, and at 14 or 15, it was a really special thing to own. Y'see, I remember the original press of From Under The Cork Tree sitting on their webstore for months and wanting to order, but my parents were convinced internet shopping was the devil so I never got one. Getting this a couple years later felt like some kind of validation.

B-Side

This art was used for the Thnks Fr Th Mmrs single, and I always loved the way this looked for no real reason. This picture disc was the first press, and no pressing info was ever released. Weirdly enough, the Hot Topic repress that only surfaced in 2014 sells for a lot more than this OG press ever has according to Discogs.

Hype sticker on the sleeve.

The record sits in one of those heavy duty PVC sleeves that Picture Discs come in, and of course has suffered a couple of seam splits over the years. This is what sits behind the record, with the thanks and credits listed below.

Back cover.
This is pretty much identical to the CD, minus the bonus track of GINASFS. That song along with 'It's Hard To Say I Do When I Don't' ended up on the HT press (how they originally dodged the final cut for this record I'll never know). Pete Wentz was way into the poster boy for emo section of his life here, dick pics and all.

Finally, the fold out poster and mentioned on the hype sticker. The set design for this album shoot looks mental.

I remember so much about this record. From the Wes Eisold not getting credited story, to the HMV exclusive tarot cards that pushed me to buy this on CD for a 3rd time, to catching them on tour when this came out. It's funny. After I pulled this out to photograph it, I played it again and got completely lost in how perfect this record really is. I've not been a huge fan of anything post reunion, but there will always be a huge place in my heart for this band. Now if a repress of TTTYG would happen, along with a long overdue vinyl press of 'Evening Out...' and 'My Heart Will Always Be...' then I'll feel a lot better about my record collection.

When it came out, Infinity On High was huge. For me it still is.

Cheers!
